Ensuring that the memorial and information boards are maintained and, assist or advise on any future additions relating to D-Day.
The Memorial
The Gosport D-Day Fellowship Memorial at Stokes Bay will be a significant landmark, dedicated to honouring the men and women who played a vital role in the success of the D-Day landings during World War II.
Through this Memorial, we pay tribute to those who were involved in a pivotal moment in history, from the planning stages to the critical execution of the mission.
Stokes Bay, located on the southern coast of England was a key embarkation point for the troops, vehicles and supplies that were essential to the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
The Memorial at Stokes Bay will serve as a reminder of the courage, determination, and sacrifice made by thousands of soldiers, sailors, and airmen who trained in the Gosport area before taking part in the historic invasion.
Visitors to the Gosport D-Day Fellowship Memorial are encouraged to take time to reflect on the enduring legacy of the D- Day landings and the role Gosport played in the operation and honour the memory of the men and women who helped secure the future of Europe and the world. It will stand as a place of Remembrance, Contemplation and Reflection for those who sacrificed so much for the cause of freedom. We hold educational talks and Presentations details of which will be held on our News page.
